At Ulpan La-Inyan, we know that while one must read and write in order to function in modern society, a language learner’s ability to speak and listen goes much further in determining their success in their new environment.
We have therefore adapted top language learning systems including the Pimsleur method for the curriculum, hired patient, probing, excellent teachers who love what they do, and taken on a customer-service stance that blends the best of the West with Israeli camaraderie, to produce the most enjoyable and effective Hebrew language program you've ever come across.
Our methodology includes:
speaking-listening sequences based on the Pimsleur method
visual presentations for reading and vocabulary development
free-style, facilitated conversation
reading, writing and listening exercises to be performed independently

About the founder
Ulpan La-Inyan’s founder and director, Ami Steinberger, came from a Hebrew-speaking Los Angeles upbringing to live in Jerusalem, where he found many, many immigrants from English-speaking countries who, after having lived there for years, were frustrated that they could not communicate effectively in Hebrew.
He then decided to draw upon his hobby of learning foreign languages to create a program that would serve the needs of the English-speaking population wishing to learn to speak Hebrew.
Ami publishes a blog called Your Daily Dose of Hebrew (or קצת עברית - "Ktzat Ivrit") to help English speakers build their Hebrew vocabulary, one dose at a time.
