how do you say “modern history” in Hebrew?

הָעֵת הַחֲדָשָׁה

This period of time called in English modern history or the modern era is called other names in Hebrew such as the basically transliterated היסטוריה מודרנית , but a proper Hebrew term is העת החדשה . It means literally, the new time.

For example:

העת החדשה ממשיכה להביא איתה אתגרים משלה.

Modern history continues to bring with it challenges of its own.

And:

יש עדיין באנושות הרבה מה לתקן בעת החדשה הזאת.

There is still much to repair in humanity in these modern times.

Broken down:

העת – the time or the era, where עת means time

החדשה – the new

Another term for modern history is העידן החדש – the new era.
