In Israel, knowing your מספר תעודת זהות – ID card number – is more important than knowing your phone number: you’ll use it all the time, from visiting the doctor to logging into your online bank.
People typically shorten the expression, cutting out מספר – number, even though they’re asking for an ID number. For example:

While בית means house, דירה means both apartment as well as dwelling.
Likewise, דיור means housing, as in:

מסגרת חינוכית is an educational framework, such as בית ספר – school, גן – nursery school, מעון – nursery school for very young children, and קייטנה – summer camp.
People shorten מסגרת חינוכית to simply מסגרת, as in:
אתקשר אחרי שאשים את הילדים במסגרות.
I’ll call after I put the kids in the (their) frameworks (drop them off).

An appointment, in Hebrew, is תור. To set is לקבוע, so to set / to make an appointment is לקבוע תור.

Here’s another super-important Israel term: קופת חולים means Health Management Organization – literally, office for the sick. Every citizen has to belong to one of these government-funded organizations in order to receive their socialized health care.
