How to Say “A Matter Of Life And Death” in Hebrew – Ulpan La-Inyan
Back in 2008, I named my
Hebrew school
Ulpan La-Inyan –
. While אולפן
today refers to Hebrew-language school (also studio), לעניין
means to the point.
is composed of -ל
(to the) and עניין
(matter, point).
To say “it’s a matter of…”, use
, as in:
It’s only a matter of time.
Likewise, a matter of life and death is
.
For example:
If it isn’t a matter of life and death, don’t wake me up.
