How to Say “Caring” in Hebrew – Ulpan La-Inyan

“I care”, in Hebrew, is אכפת לי
– literally “concern to me”.
For example:
לא אכפת לי מה יגידו, אני עושה את זה.
I don’t care what they say, I’m doing it.
Likewise, “he cares” is אכפת לו
, “you guys care” is אכפת לכם
, etc. Just change the ending on -ל (to…), and you’ll be able to express who cares.
What about “caring”? That’s אכפתיות
, as in:
אחת התכונות הבולטות שלה היא אכפתיות לזולת.
One of her outstanding qualities is caring for others (the other).
אכפת
and אכפתיות
come from
Aramaic and first appear in Mishnaic Hebrew.
