how to say “diamond” in Hebrew

יַהֲלוֹם

The Hebrew word for diamond is יהלום

, as in:

בורסת היהלומים הישראלית ממוקמת ברמת גן.

The Israeli diamond exchange is located in Ramat Gan.

Unlike in English, we don’t use the metaphor of a diamond in diamond-shaped – we say instead צורת ריבוע

– square-shape.
