How to Say “Get It Out Of My Head” in Hebrew – Ulpan La-Inyan
לְהוֹצִיא מֵהָרֹאשׁ
Know that song “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” by Kylie Minogue? It got stuck in my head the other day.
To get (it) out of my head, in Hebrew, is להוציא מהראש
– literally, to take out of the head.
For example:
אני לא מצליח להוציא את השיר הזה מהראש.
I can’t get this song out of my head.
להוציא
– to take out – is a
הפעיל verb
of the root י.צ.א
.
מהראש
means from/of the head. Where’s the word for “my”? Hebrew tends to omit it, using “the” instead, as in:
שברתי את הרגל.
I broke the (my) foot.
