How to Say “Grumpy” in Hebrew – Ulpan La-Inyan

Not long ago was Passover, when Jews customarily eat bitter herbs – מרור
as a reminder of the bitterness of slavery.
The word for “bitter” the taste is מר
, which gives us the word for “bitter” the mood or state – ממורמר
for males and ממורמרת
for females. It also means “grumpy.”
For example:
דבר איתי כשתהיה פחות ממורמר.
Talk to me when you’re less grumpy (spoken to a male).
ממורמר
is a פועל form of  the פיעל verb למרמר
– to embitter.
