The Hebrew word for guideline is הנחיה , where more than one guideline is הנחיות .

For example:

We are waiting for guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

הנחיה comes from the הפעיל verb להנחות – to guide, to lead. Likewise, a facilitator – someone who guides people through a process – is מנחֶה (a male) or מנחָה (a female).

You may recognize להנחות from the Biblical verse:

He guides me along the right paths, for His name (Psalms 23:3)
