how to say “negative” in Hebrew

שְׁלִילִי

The Hebrew word for positive is חיובי , as in:

יש לי רגשות חיוביים כלפיה.

I have positive feelings towards her.

Its opposite, negative, is שלילי .

For example:

יש השלכות, אבל הן לאו דווקא שליליות.

There are consequences, but they aren’t necessarily negative.

שלילי is related to the word to negate – לשלול , a simple פעל verb.
