חַיְשָׁן

Here’s another professional/character term, taking a Hebrew root and adding the ן- or נית- ending: חיישן , a sensor, of the root ח.ו.ש (or ח.י.ש ).

For example:

בנתב”ג יש חיישנים שמזהים אנשים בלי מסיכה.

At Ben Gurion Airport there are sensors that detect people without a mask.

To sense is לחוש , while senses are חושים , such as חוש הריח the sense of smell.
