How to Say “Shopping Cart” in Hebrew – Ulpan La-Inyan

The physical shopping cart they make you pay a deposit for in Israeli supermarkets is עגלה
or עגלת קניות
.
For example:
תוכל לתת לי חמישה שקלים כדי לשחרר את העגלה?
Could you give me five shekels to release the cart?
A shopping basket that you might carry around by hand (if you don’t want to pay the deposit, for example) is סל קניות
.
You’ll find both עגלת קניות
(or עגלה) and סל קניות
appearing on websites representing a virtual “shopping cart”.
For example:
אחרי אישור סל הקניות, הלקוח מועבר לעמוד התשלום.
After confirming the shopping cart, the customer is transferred to the payment page.
