Olim Courses

Being Israeli is a state of mind

In Israel, it’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it. After our program you’ll have both the language and the cultural nuances to become besties with even the toughest clerks at Misrad Hapnim (and get that document you need) – all through small, intimate classes around your schedule, and exactly right for your level.

New Olim at Ulpan La-Inyan

Due to changes in government policy, Ulpan La-Inyan is no longer able to accept vouchers from Misrad Haklita for reimbursable courses. For more information about this change and an opportunity to take action, see below.

We at Ulpan La-Inyan deeply value olim and aliyah, so we are offering a 20% discount on our group courses to anyone who has made aliyah in the past 10 years.

Since 2017 Ulpan la-Inyan has had the honor of teaching over 2400 olim in over 600 groups. This was made possible by a temporary law that allowed olim to be completely reimbursed for a course of 4 or 6 people.

After Misrad Haklita abruptly stopped issuing private-ulpan vouchers, Ulpan La-Inyan together with other companies tried advocating for olim in the Knesset committee and eventually in a legal battle. Unfortunately, Misrad Haklita has decided to issue vouchers only to people who have already attended public ulpan. In addition, the groups now comprise 12 students, making it virtually impossible to register enough people on the same level at the same place and at the same time to form groups.

We have exhausted our channels of influence. Now we encourage you to make your voice heard. You can send an email to Ofir Sofer, Minister of Immigrant Absorption, and copy his staff and the Knesset aliyah committee to the email using these suggested guidelines:

  1. Open a blank email and address it to sar@moia.gov.il
  2. Add the following email addresses in the CC field: mankal@moia.gov.il, sivang@moia.gov.il, vdept3@knesset.gov.il
  3. Write your message. Be sure to include your name, Teudat Zehut number and date of aliyah. Feel free to use the suggested message on the next page, but we encourage you to add your personal story so that the readers might see you as a person and not just a number.

We are here for you, and we hope we can succeed together.

Here is a sample text you can use for your letter:

To the Minister of Immigrant Absorption,

My name is YOURNAME. My Teudat Zehut number is TZNUMBER, and I made aliyah on ALIYAHDATE.

I was looking forward to taking advantage of my right to a government-funded private ulpan.

When I approached Ulpan La-Inyan, they told me that they regrettably no longer accept government vouchers due to new circumstances that have made it impossible to assemble a group.

I urge you to find a way to enable private ulpans to offer their courses so that I can learn to speak Hebrew in a format that makes it feasible for me.

Thank you for your consideration
