How to say “feelings of remorse” in Hebrew

מוּסַר כְּלָיוֹת

You may know the Hebrew word that means literally regret or remorse: חרטה . Likewise, to regret is להתחרט , as in:

אני מתחרטת שקניתי את המכשיר הזה.

I (a female) regret that I bought this device.

A more striking expression for feelings of remorse is מוסר כליות – literally, castigation of (the) kidneys.

For example:

היה לו מוסר כליות והוא החליט לשנות כיוון.

He had (feelings of) remorse and decided to change direction.
