how to say “to get aggravated” in Hebrew

לְהִתְעַצְבֵּן

The Hebrew word for nerve is עצב (note that the pronunciation has ah vowels, not eh vowels). So it makes sense that the word for to get worked up or aggravated is להתעצבן , since this is usually the result of people or events getting on one’s nerves.

For example:

אחרי שעה וחצי בתור אני מתחיל להתעצבן.

After an hour and a half in line I start getting aggravated. (spoken by a male)

This reflexive-intensive התפעל verb is להתעצבן and not להתעצב , since the latter was already taken. להתעצב means to get sad.
