how to say “through the internet” in Hebrew

דֶּרֶךְ הָאִינְטֶרְנֶט

The Hebrew word דרך means path or way, but it also means through. I can’t help but wonder whether through comes from דרך – look at how similar the sounds d and th are, and how the coarse guttural kh sound is how gh used to be pronounced in English. Look at the German durch meaning by, through: these English and German words come from the same root.

So through or via the internet is דרך האינטרנט .

For example:

הם הכירו דרך האינטרנט.

They met through the internet.

After having studied literature and linguistics on the bachelors level and psychology on the masters, Ami decided to draw upon his hobby of learning languages, his understanding of human thought processes and his skill of explaining complex ideas in simple terms, to found a program that enables people to speak Hebrew with confidence.
