שָׁנָה חֲדָשָׁה
The word שנה – year – is grammatically feminine, which means that the words describing it also need to be grammatically feminine.
So that while סרט חדש is a new movie – where סרט is masculine – שנה חדשה is a new year, where חדשה has the tell-tale feminine ה– ending.
For example:
בסרטון של היום תמצאו ברכה ממני, לשנה החדשה.
In today’s video you’ll find a greeting from me, for the new year.
