טְעִימָה
While טעים
means tasty when referring to something grammatically masculine such as soup:
המרק הזה ממש טעים.
This soup is really tasty.
…the word טעימה
means tasty when referring to something feminine, like quiche:
הפשטידה הזאת טעימה רצח.
This quiche-pie is delicious. (murder-tasty)
But טעימה
can also mean something else: a taste.
For example:
אפשר רק טעימה של העוגה?
Can I have just a taste of the cake?
Likewise, a round of tastes – or tastings – is סבב טעימות
:
לא מכירים את הבירות שלנו? קחו סבב טעימות!
Don’t know our beers? Have (take) a round of tastings! (spoken to more than one person)
To taste is לטעום
, a
simple verb
.
