אַל תִּתְבַּיֵּישׁ
בושה is the Hebrew word for shame, of the root ב.ו.ש. So it makes sense that the התפעל verb להתבייש means to be embarrassed or to be shy.
This word finds expression most commonly in the Israeli invitation of hospitality: אל תתבייש – don’t be embarrassed or don’t be shy (spoken to a male; to a female it’s אל תתביישי, and to more than one person it’s אל תתביישו).
For example:
אתם עוד רעבים? אל תתביישו! קחו מה שאתם רוצים!
You guys still hungry? Don’t be shy! Take whatever you want!
