How do you say coffee in Hebrew? You guessed it – קפה
.
We’ve seen that a cafe is בית קפה
– literally, a house of coffee. But what about “my” coffee?
In Hebrew, we just say הקפה
– the coffee. And since “my coffee” tends to appear in complete sentences, a better translation is את הקפה
, as in:
עוד לא שתיתי את הקפה – מבחינתי אני עדיין במיטה.
I haven’t had my (the) coffee yet – as far as I’m concerned I’m still in bed.
