מְעוֹרֵר מַחְשָׁבָה
If something is thought-provoking or eye-opening, we call it מעורר מחשבה
.
The first word, מעורר
, means to wake up or arouse. This is a
פיעל verb
, while another similar word you may know – להתעורר
– to wake up – is a
התפעל verb
.
The second word in the phrase, מחשבה
– thought, comes from ח.ש.ב
, the root for thinking. So, something that is מעורר מחשבה
literally “wakes up your thoughts.”
In context:
ראיתי אתמול סרט ממש מעורר מחשבה על בינה מלאכותית.
I saw a really thought-provoking movie yesterday about AI.
