רִיפּוּד
The upholstery or padding in your car is ריפוד
. The root is ר.פ.ד
, which means to line, pad, or cushion.
You’ll hear this root in the
פיעל verb
לרפד
– to pad/upholster. If you’re lucky, your ריפוד
is made of fancy leather. If you’re a parent in Israel, your ריפוד
is mostly “padded” with layers of Bamba crumbs and ancient Bissli.
In context:
תיזהר עם הקפה, שלא תלכלך את הריפוד החדש!
Be careful with the coffee, don’t get the new upholstery dirty! (spoken to a male)
