If you’ve ever walked the streets of Israel, you’ve definitely heard this one. בוא’נה
is actually a “shrunk” version of the words בוא הנה
, which literally means “come here.”
But in Israeli slang, it’s used as an exclamation to express surprise or to get someone’s attention—sort of like “wow,” “man,” or “look here!” It often comes right after the word וואי
(the Hebrew version of “whoa” or “OMG”).
In context:
וואי, בוא’נה, זה היה מדהים!
Whoa, man, that was amazing!
Pro tip: Depending on your tone of voice, בוא’נה
can sound very friendly and excited, or it can sound a bit confrontational—so use it with a smile 🙂
