תְּקוּפָה קָשָׁה
The Hebrew word for hard or difficult is קשֶה
for something grammatically masculine and קשָה
for something feminine.
For example:
קשה לדעת אם הם אומרים את האמת או לא.
It’s hard to know if they’re telling the truth or not.
The basic word for time is זמן
, while an era or a period of time is תקופה
. Thus a hard time is תקופה קשה
:
העם היהודי עובר תקופה קשה.
The Jewish People are going through a difficult time.
Hardships or difficulties are
קשיים
