When filling out a form in Hebrew, the first two items you’re likely to encounter are שם פרטי
– first name, and שם משפחה
– last name or surname.
For example:
קודם צריך למלא פרטים אישיים, למשל שם פרטי ושם משפחה.
First (you) have to fill out personal information (details), for example first name and last name.
Literally, שם פרטי
is “private name,” while שם משפחה
is “family name.”
Sometimes instead of two fields to fill out you’ll see a single field – שם מלא
– full name.
